Good point Devyani!

Well everyone should try to buy in their own country to cut down on the emissions from transporting those products to far away countries.

Because of the extra cost of the environmental and safety measures the U.S. puts on companies, Pepsi chooses to go all the way to India where they do not take the expensive environmental and saftey measures. I think this is horrible. They do the same thing to Mexico too. Some (Not just American) companies go places like Mexico to make things cheaper where they do not impose the environment and safety rules.

As far as war goes we all know thats not good for the environment as well as the people living there. I am hopeful with the new election that America will return to being peace-keepers and not war-mongerls. At lease we all are hoping!

how you will find out whether or not the product you are using is made in India or china.I guess by made in india/china label. But the bottom line is many US companies like pepsi have opened there manufacturing units here to cut there production cost. You may be buying pepsi from your local store with made in US label but it may have actually being prepared in India/China. America is the second top polluter in the world after china. And what about bombing countries after countries in the name of fighting terrorism. Bombs don't create any pollution.Example is better than percept.
